Wimberly Claims Service, formerly known as Wimberly & Associates, Inc. is built on a foundation of more than 40 years success as a family owned business.  Wimberly Claims Service was originally founded by Sam B. Wimberly in 1973.  For over 40 years the company built a reputation on providing quality claims service.   We are a licensed and insured adjusting company with experience in a full line of claims services.  We pride ourselves on outstanding customer service and competitive pricing.

Our Team Managers


John opened Wimberly Claims Service (WCS) in December of 2003. The company, formerly known as Wimberly & Associates, Inc. was originally founded by his father Sam B. Wimberly in 1973. For 30 years the company built a reputation on providing quality claims service. John’s extensive training and background with one of the Industry leaders in customer service, allowed him to uphold the high standards set forth by his father.

John began his career with Wimberly & Associates in 1993, then went on to Amica Mutual Insurance Company, where he obtained much of his training and experience in the industry. John joined First Professionals Insurance Company as a Senior Claims Representative to handle medical malpractice claims and oversee the Central Florida Claims Office prior to opening Wimberly Claims service.

John, obtained his AIC designation from the Insurance Institute of America, is an active member in the Jacksonville Claims Association as well as the Orlando Claims Association. He is also part of the Property Casualty Claims Professional (PCCP) and Windstorm Insurance Network.  John is certified through the Windstorm network as an umpire and oversees and handles appraisals.  John is flood certified and received training in residential and commercial construction estimating through Vale Technical Institute.

Chuck Wimberly

After handling medical malpractice claims as a claims supervisor for approximately 13 years, Chuck rejoined the family business in 2004 after having worked with his father in the late 80’s.  With considerable training in both general and professional liability Chuck has brought some unique experience to the firm.  As a claims supervisor with First Professionals Insurance Company (FPIC), Chuck was involved with all forms of dispute resolution and gained a vast understanding of claims involving medical issues. Prior to his relationship with FPIC he was a claims manager with Gilmore Wimberly and Associates where he was involved in a variety of claims. Chuck spearheaded the City of Jacksonville account which his father’s company maintained for approximately 10 years as well as managed and handled claims assigned from a variety of other carriers.

Over the past 4 years, Chuck has been primarily handling appraisals for State Farm as well as acting as an Umpire for a multitude of appraisers and carriers as he is a Wind Certified Appraiser/Umpire. He has also handled mediations for several carriers in North Florida.  With his substantial experience in litigation, negotiation, and claims handling, Chuck is available to assist with all of your claim related needs.
